As a composer and artist, I believe that creative expression is an elemental impulse of human nature and essential to humanity and am committed to the transcendent power of music and visual arts and the potency of awe. On a deep personal level, to cope with the staggering complexities and emotions of these times, I’ve re-embraced an earlier passion for visual arts, transitioning to an evolving multidisciplinary artistic practice to explore new tangents for expression. I am interested in presenting encounters with sculptural forms and immersive spaces that seem both familiar and unfamiliar. I explore the emotional intersection between the visceral physicality of architecturally conceived ephemeral spaces and the temporality of music. My work also speaks to the primal need for shelter, the sanctity of spaces, and the power of contemplative environments. Using translucence and illumination to convey a sense of ephemerality and non-linear emotional logic – juxtapositions of balance, concealment, disclosure, and suspension become energetically charged. The infusion of music and video into the experience of the work adds a temporal dimension and interior perspective, inviting the viewer to inhabit the work on an intimate scale. Through all my work, I seek to tap into a channel of subliminal associations that spark deep responses of awe, wonder, and compassion – and inspire a transformative sense of the universality of human experience.Exhibitions
