I am delighted to have been invited to present a talk at the International Conductors Guild’s 2024 Conference, January 4-6, 2024.
Dacher Keltner’s inspiring book Awe and recent scientific research into “musical awe” demonstrate that audiences, as a group, can synchronistically experience this transformative and mysterious energy. I’m excited to offer ideas for developing “reflective concert formats” in which the encounter with orchestral music and the potency of awe can be maximized for audience engagement.
